La Albiceleste are heading into the match on the back of a thumping 3-0 victory over Honduras on Friday, while Jamaica played out a 1-1 draw against Qatar in August.
World Cup bout side Argentina will take on Honduras in an international friendly at Red Bull Arena in New Jersey on Tuesday night. This will be Argentina’s final match to prepare for the upcoming global event in Qatar in two months’ time. Meanwhile, La Albiceleste are heading into the match on the back of a thumping 3-0 victory over Honduras on Friday, while Jamaica played out a 1-1 draw against Qatar in August. Jamaica failed to qualify for the World Cup as they managed to secure only a sixth-place finish in the North American qualification group. Only the top three teams from the CONCACAF Octagon earn a spot in the World Cup, while the fourth-placed side go through to the inter-continental playoff.

Argentina put three goals past Honduras without reply at the Hard Rock Stadium on Friday. Lautaro Martinez opened the scoring inside the opening 16 minutes, before Lionel Messi doubled the lead from the penalty spot, on the stroke of half-time. And then, Messi completed his brace in the 69th-minute to seal the win for La Albiceleste. It was a dominant performance from Lionel Scaloni’s side as they recorded more than 65% of ball possession, while attempting eight shots on target, compared to zero efforts on goal by Honduras.
Argentina are placed in Group C of the World Cup and will kick off their campaign against Saudi Arabia on November 22, before taking on Mexico and Poland on November 27th and December 1 respectively. Jamaica, meanwhile, have only ever qualified for the World Cup in their entire history, when finishing third in Group H in 1998. Former Iceland boss Heimir Hallgrimsson has been given the charge of the Jamaican national side. The 55-year-old tactician will be hoping to make an immediate impact in his first game in charge on Tuesday.

Argentina boss Scaloni is likely to rotate his squad in order to test the bench strength. Tottenham-man Christian Romero, who was an unused substitute against Honduras, could start in the central defence, alongside Nicolas Otamendi. Messi, Martinez and Angel Di Maria are expected to form the front-three. As for Jamaica, full-back Gregory Leigh is injured and therefore Ricardo Thomas has joined the squad.
Argentina probable starting lineup: Rulli, Montiel, Romero, Otamendi, Tagliafico, De Paul, Fernandez, Lo Celso, Messi, Martinez, Di Maria
Jamaica probable starting lineup: Barnes, Mariappa, Lowe, Brown, Bell, Stewart, Russell, Reid, Morrison, Bailey, Antonio
