As the U.S. Track and Field Championships approach, scheduled for 6-9 July 2023, the athletics world’s brightest stars are making their appearance this weekend on 24 June 2023, at the USATF NYC Grand Prix 2023 in the heart of New York City at the Icahn Stadium. The USATF NYC Grand Prix 2023 holds immense prominence in the World Athletics’ Continental Tour as it comes under a gold-level event.

The men’s 100m sprint is expected to be a nail-biter. Noah Lyles, who holds the world champion title for 200m, is gearing up to face Christian Coleman, the world champion from 2019, and Kenny Bednarek, who has Olympic and world silver medals to his name. The trio will be accompanied by Marvin Bracy-Williams, who earned a silver medal in the Worlds 100m in 2022, and Michael Norman. Additionally, Lyles is set for an electrifying re-match with Norman, the 400m Olympic gold medalist, in the 200m.

Turning to the women’s competitions, the 400m flat is set to feature a thrilling duel between Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and Gabrielle Thomas. McLaughlin-Levrone, with an Olympic gold and world record in the 400m hurdles, will be testing her mettle in the 100m. On the other hand, Thomas, who brought home a bronze in the 200m from Tokyo 2020, will also showcase her prowess in the 100m. In the women’s 100m face-off, McLaughlin-Levrone and Thomas will have to bring their A-game as they go up against Aleia Hobbs, who has been making waves in the 100m this season.
