John Cena was involved in a very bitter feud with Kane in 2012. The fans seemed to have had enough of John Cena who seemingly was too PG for the hardcore wrestling fan. With the retirement of Edge due to a neck injury, the fans were yearning for a heel and they got their wish on April 2, 2012, when Brock Lesnar returned to the American Airlines Arena and gave an emphatic F5 to John Cena.

The pop from the crowd was so huge that they could be heard chanting ‘Holy Sh*t’ for the entire time that Brock was in the ring. John Laurinaitis, who was the manager of RAW back then said that he had signed Brock Lesnar to bring legitimacy back to the WWE and boy was he proven right. The Beast has been on a tear ever since and is showing no signs of stopping anytime soon.

Sting

When WCW went out of business, a lot of its wrestlers jumped ship and moved to the WWE. But there was one superstar who didn’t do that at the time and it was none other than Sting. Sting embodied everything WCW stood for. He was for WCW what the Undertaker was for the WWE, so it came as a huge surprise when the Vigilante showed up on WWE television.

On November 23, 2014, during the main event of Survivor Series, Sting confronted the Authority (Triple H & Stephanie) and cost them the match which meant that they had to relinquish their power over Monday Night RAW. The fans lost their mind when they saw the Icon come to the ring and give Triple H a scorpion death drop. What followed next was very exciting as Sting and Triple H met at WrestleMania 31 in a WWE vs WCW match which was very nostalgic and brought back memories.

Shane McMahon

Shane McMahon left WWE in 2010 and disappeared with not one word about him. The fans seemed to remember him only as a footnote of the Attitude Era. So it came as an unbelievable surprise when Shane O’Mac returned in 2016. McMahon Junior returned to spoil his sister’s big day as she was about to receive the Vincent J. McMahon Legacy of Excellence award from her father.

Shane said that the reason he came back was for one reason only and that was to have control of Monday Night RAW. Mr McMahon agreed to do it on one condition. Shane had to beat the Undertaker at WrestleMania 32. The fan reaction to Shane’s return was probably the loudest in the history of the WWE and was a great way to introduce someone of his stature after such a long hiatus.
