Shane McMahon has allegedly been let go by WWE after making a surprise appearance at the most recent WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view. He will have no further involvement in the organization.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Shane McMahon was a part of both the WWE Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania 38, as reported by Fightful Select.

Both plans have been canceled now that McMahon has been freed. The younger McMahon finished as second runner-up after eliminating Kevin Owens at number 28. Brock Lesnar threw him out of the ring.

WWE has yet to issue a formal announcement about Shane McMahon’s resignation, but Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter verified the news. Shane was the chief writer, and producer of the men’s Royal Rumble match.

The issue was that the son of the boss sought to plan the Rumble around himself. This is according to a report from RingSideNews.

The report further added that Shane was also belligerent and desperate to get into the WWE Royal Rumble event.

According to the newest claim, authors were warned in a “semi-quiet way” that “there will be no more creative discussions about Shane McMahon.”

They’ve “moved on to other creative discussions,” according to the statement. It is worth noting that this source also says that Vince McMahon’s son has not worked for WWE in quite some time.

‘No choice’ but to let go of Shane McMahon

According to reports, Vince was forced to let Shane leave after what he did at the Royal Rumble. Shane wanted to play a large part in the Rumble match, according to RSN, and publicly buried other producers.

The main event was drastically altered, and the WWE roster appeared to be quite dissatisfied with the results.

According to RSN, “Vince had no choice. Shane created chaos, had everyone in an uproar, p****d off everyone in the Rumble, openly buried other producers, and was changing things that Vince wanted. Vince had no other choice but to send him home.”

Furthermore, the authors have been told that no further creative conversations regarding Shane are needed from now on.

McMahon was part of WrestleMania last year, when he took on Braun Strowman in a steel cage match. Interestingly, neither of those two are part of the company right now.
