Greetings and welcome to Sportslumo’s coverage of WWE Raw report 1 on July 3 from the Baltimore CFG Bank Arena. Following their split triumphs at Backlash and Night of Champions, Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar are once again headed towards a collision. Lesnar made a Monday appearance on WWE Raw to carry on his ongoing feud with Rhodes that began the night after WrestleMania 39 in April.

Since losing at WrestleMania to undefeated WWE universal champion Roman Reigns, Rhodes has been clamoring for a world championship. Seth Rollins’ challenge appeared to be one that “The American Nightmare” was prepared to answer, but Lesnar once more got in the way of Rhodes’ intentions. Due to Lesnar’s meddling, Judgement Day and Rollins were able to resume their conflict.

Natalya vs Rhea Ripley

This bout was scheduled to occur a few days ago, but it was canceled when Rhea Ripley struck Natalya just before the bell. We finally witnessed their Night of Champions rematch this week. On her approach to the ring, Nattie resorted to stabbing Ripley in an effort to exact some sort of retribution on The Eradicator. The champion said that she could still compete, thus the match began. They persisted in their physical contact, and this quickly descended into a brawl. After getting her bearings, Ripley reversed the situation and began to dominate the veteran.

This was a strong battle that showcased both of the women’s many talents because both women take great satisfaction in their ability and strength. With this one, they could have excelled in their NoC encounter. When Ripley attempted a frog splash, she landed on a pair of boots instead. Before locking in the Sharpshooter, the Queen of Harts delivered a running British Bulldog Powerslam. Once free, the Australian hit a powerbomb to secure victory. After the bell rang, Ripley proceeded to assault Natalya, but Morgan and Rodriguez intervened to stop him.

Giovanni Vinci vs Matt Riddle

When Giovanni Vinci squared off against Matt Riddle, the person who had put him on the sidelines for a month, he was seeking retribution. After the bell, Ludwig Kaiser diverted The Original Bro so that Vinci could seize the initiative. After a slam, Riddle stood back up to kick, but Vinci caught him with a springboard crossbody and knocked him back down.

The few minutes we had were good, even if this was a rather brief game that Riddle ultimately won with a roll-up. It leaves the possibility of a subsequent rematch, which would allow them additional time to prepare. After Imperium pursued Riddle after the bell, Drew McIntyre attempted the save. Before hitting Vinci with a Claymore, he turned and looked directly at Gunther.

Seth Rollins vs Dominik Mysterio

The bout between Rollins and Mysterio, which was hyped up throughout the initial segment, served as the main event. As Ripley confronted the world champion, Priest and Ripley stood by his side. To gain a feel for one another, they began with some straightforward chain wrestling with takedowns and counters. Before knocking Dom out with a knee from the apron, The Visionary nearly sent Dom flying over the top rope and into Ripley. The Archer of Infamy threw Rollins off the top rope after the break while Ripley diverted the referee’s attention. Dom was able to hit a frog splash as a result.

Priest attacked Rollins as he was getting ready to stomp in order to disqualify him. Ripley clutched tight to his briefcase as he started decimating the world champion. When the Visionary attempted to respond, Dom smacked him with the briefcase. However, Finn Bálor arrived to confront Rollins and ended up slamming him into The Punishment as he attempted to tell Priest to cash in. The two members of The Judgement Day quarreled over this.

Before fleeing from the other members of the group, Rollins hit Dom with a Pedigree on the ground. The main event was a respectable match, but it was far from the highlight of the programme. Priest and Bálor will probably get into a fight sooner than some people might have anticipated now that the seeds have been set.

Buildup for SummerSlam

The show this week had to take action. It was necessary to analyze what occurred at Money in the Bank and to start preparing for SummerSlam. Although it performed both of those things fairly effectively, it had some flaws. The six-person mixed tag team battle was entertaining, but the fight between Natalya and Ripley for the Women’s World Championship was the highlight of the evening.

The BOAT looked better than she has in a long time in the ring, but Nattie made the champion look strong because she realized that this was Ripley’s moment. The night began well by preparing for an additional contest between Lesnar and Rhodes. This wasn’t a very poor episode overall. Despite certain shortcomings, viewers seemed to enjoy Monday’s broadcast more than they did not.
