From the Capitol Wrestling Centre within the WWE Performance Centre in Orlando, Florida, WWE NXT will make its USA Network debut tonight at 8/7c. Mustafa Ali vs. Axiom, Kelani Jordan vs. Blair Davenport, Ivy Nile vs. Kiana James, as well as Bron Breakker vs. Von Wagner are scheduled for this week’s two-hour NXT on USA event, which features a commercial-free first hour. This evening’s programme also include a match between Noam Dar and Tyler Bate for the fictitious NXT Heritage Cup trophy and a match between Dragon Lee and Dominik Mysterio for the NXT North American Championship featuring Rey Mysterio in Lee’s corner.

Mustafa Ali vs Axiom

The Light had to use deceit to win the hard-fought battle between Mustafa Ali and Axiom. He took off The Superhero’s mask, threw him to the ground, then returned to the ring with a 450 splash to win. Axiom and Ali excelled in the opener even without a compelling tale. Fortunately, Scrypts stayed out of it completely, allowing the two to sell their work in the ring. Ali has done a tremendous job of portraying himself as a veteran who isn’t scared to cut corners without alienating his supporters.

Even after using a cheap shot to win, he is one of the most well-liked stars in front of this NXT audience. He’ll perform admirably as the following contender for the North American Championship. He has often demonstrated that he can perform when given the spotlight. Axiom does the same, but he must put his present feud behind him before pursuing gold.

Blair Davenport vs Kelani Jordan and Dana Brooke

Jordan’s arm is worked by Davenport. Jordan turns it around and locks his wrist. A springboard rana is landed by Jordan. Jordan’s circus hip toss. Jordan performs a cartwheel into a nearly fatal backslide. In an effort to stop Jordan’s momentum, Davenport rolls out of the ring. Jordan strikes Davenport with an elbow cartwheel. A rocker dropper is set up by Jordan. Davenport stays away. Jordan becomes entangled in the cords.

With a double stomp from the top rope, Davenport destroys Jordan. Jordan is destroyed by Davenport using the kamigoye to win. Following the contest, Dana Brooke uses a belt to pursue Davenport around the ring. Jordan makes an effort to calm Brooke down. Jordan almost was hit by Brooke. The two women clash.

Heritage Cup (Noam Dar vs Tyler Bate)

Tyler Bate made a statement by hitting the Tyler Driver 98 fast in the second round for the first fall following a close opening round. The Big Strong Boi had to submit in the fourth round after spending a significant amount of time in a knee bar. Bate attempted the Tyler Driver in the fifth round, but Dar countered it into a pinfall attempt. For an unexpected three-count, The Big Strong Boi reversed it into his own pin. Few men are as familiar with the Rounds format as Dar and Bate, who were both Heritage Cup champions in the past. It became evident during a chaotic five-round fight with lots of twists and turns.

Dar grew stronger and more self-assured while Bate started out strong and eventually wore down. But in the last stretch, he became overconfident and lost his “baby” once more. As a result, the Heritage Cup scene has become convoluted. Dar or Bate vs. Nathan Frazer for the trophy has not yet been witnessed by the NXT Universe, and both matches promise to be incredible.

Ilja Dragunov Calls Out Trick Williams

During a brief conversation, Ilja Dragunov insisted that Trick Williams face him in the ring. On August 22, they got together and decided to have a match at Heatwave. Trick exudes a confidence in himself that radiates from the outside. This Dragunov encounter ought to be the first step in distancing him from his status as Carmelo Hayes’ sidekick because he is obviously a star in the making.

Trick has always been better at talking a big game than really playing one, but with each performance, he has improved as a performer in the ring. He must demonstrate his ability to compete with the best in this fight. The Mad Dragon may decide to go all-heel in this match to send a message to Melo. The outcome should be exciting to watch. Melo vs. Dragunov II is guaranteed to be profitable.

Bron Breakker vs Von Wagner and Mr. Stone

Bron Breakker makes a suplex attempt. In order to get away, Wagner uses a shoulder block. Wagner’s suplex. Breakker exits the ring by rolling. In response to the crowd’s cries for a table, Wagner clears the commentary desk. Wagner is pushed into the apron by Breakker. Breakker abuses Wagner while also making fun of him. Wagner gets going and prepares his finale. Breakker escapes and scores with a Spear. Breakker snatches Mr. Stone after the game. Bron is removed from the ring by Wagner, who also saves Mr. Stone. Through the commentary desk, Breakker powerbombs Breakker.

Briggs, Jensen and Fallon Henley vs Drew Gulak and Charlie Dempsey

Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen have more strength and speed than Drew Gulak and Charlie Dempsey, and they were difficult to equal. By suplexing Jensen outside and lining johnny up for a leaping dragon suplex to win, Damon Kemp saved them. Although everyone put on a good show, the game was too brief given the quality there. Although the conclusion was evident, it positions Kemp to work with the proven heels. Hopefully, this will allow all three of them to resume winning games. Despite representing one of the best tag teams at the time of Stand & Deliver in April, Briggs and Jensen have since lost some of their momentum. NXT cannot risk losing sight of them.

Ivy Nile vs Kiana James

The duel between Ivy Nile and Kiana James had a one-sided beginning, but Schism’s appearance distracted her. Ava grasped Nile’s leg as the dragon sleeper was sealed in by Nile. James was then able to successfully execute his new finisher, the Deal Breaker. After that, Schism seized Nile and demanded that she reveal the location of the Creed Brothers. The stop was made by Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo.

This was a good match that showed James and Nile’s development as wrestlers. This could have gone much further if not for the Schism meddling. But it made sense in the context of the story. Schism are still asking for the Creeds’ whereabouts, but Julius and Brutus Creed should return soon. The Dyad will currently receive a shot at the NXT tag team championship.

North American Championship Match

Dragon Lee put up a valiant fight against a competitive Dominik Mysterio and came close to winning with a powerbomb. However, Dirty Dom hit a Michinoku Driver to win the championship back after Rhea Ripley blasted Dragon with her Women’s World Championship. After that, Ripley confronted Rey Mysterio until The Eradicator was expelled by Lyra Valkyria. Dirty Dom has been working extra hard for WWE lately, and it’s paying off. With each important match, he becomes better. While the challenger provided assistance, Dominik appeared more like a true champion than he has in the past.

He appears to be a world-beater, especially in NXT, working major event angles with the brands’ up-and-coming stars to elevate them. The biggest match for Dragon in NXT thus far. This narrative might not be over yet. Additionally, it appears like Ripley vs. Valkyria is still ongoing, which is quite beneficial for The Valkyrie. If she can win a title bout on WWE Raw, that will immediately increase her reputation.

The Final Word

This week’s display of the roster was far better than last week’s, even though nothing on NXT was absolutely earth-shattering. Everyone put their all into the major event and the opener. The most notable bout of the evening was arguably Mustafa Ali vs. Axiom, but Noam Dar vs. Tyler Bate and Dominik Mysterio vs. Dragon Lee wasn’t far behind. Heatwave’s buildup has begun with stories, which indicates that the brand is moving forward once more.

Promised contests like Nathan Frazer vs. Noam Dar and Ilja Dragunov vs. Trick Williams has a lot of potential. More people are becoming aware of The Judgement Day, especially thanks to Dirty Dom and Rhea Ripley. The offering must currently feel exciting and worthwhile for weekly viewing. This show conveyed that impression without offering anything that could be repeated the following week.
