Steven James Anderson was born on December 18, 1964, in Austin, Texas, United States. He is an American professional wrestler, actor, and television personality. In WWE, he goes by the ring moniker Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Austin was born to Beverly and James Anderson. He has three brothers (Scott, Kevin, and Jeff) and a younger sister named Jennifer. After graduating from Edna High School, Austin received a football scholarship to Wharton County Junior College, followed by a full scholarship to the University of North Texas. Prior to his injuries, he played football as a linebacker, which led him to switch to defensive end.

Austin stated that he fell in love with the wrestling profession when he was seven or eight years old. “I fell in love with the industry when I was seven or eight years old. All I ever wanted was to be a professional wrestler. “Wrestling was the biggest thing in my life.”
