Grayson Waller returned to “NXT” on Tuesday night after being “suspended” for interrupting the Vengeance Day post-show press conference. Waller was defeated by Tyler Bate in his rematch. Waller attempted to win the match by clutching the ropes, but the referee caught him before he could obtain a three-count. That didn’t sit well with Waller, whose rage erupted in response to the referee’s decision.
Following his defeat, Waller approached Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels, who was the basis for his previous suspension. Michaels refused to back down and yelled back at Waller. Throughout the altercation, Waller started calling Michaels a “suit,” to which Michaels responded by telling Matt Bloom to remove Waller from the backstage area because he was out of control. The scenario finished with Michaels saying, “Cut to commercial!”
Later, Waller was forced to leave the arena. While Michaels was being led out, Waller spoke a few harsh words to him. “Shawn Michaels doesn’t even have the respect to let me get changed,” said Waller. “He’s kicking me out of the building. I’m the biggest star in ‘NXT.’ Shawn should be on his knees saying ‘thank you’ for my presence. You’re a hypocrite, Shawn. You’re a hypocrite. HBK don’t exist anymore. You suit, you stooge. Grayson Waller runs this.”

Tyler Bate beat Grayson Waller in a hard-fought match on NXT today. Grayson Waller was unhappy after losing to Bron Breakker on NXT Vengeance Day. He disrupted Shawn Michaels’ media call and yelled at him until Matt Bloom intervened and pulled him away.
As a result, Michaels fired Waller for a week. Tyler Bate took offense to Waller’s disdain for the legacy last week and challenged him to a bout this week on NXT. The contest began tonight’s show. The two men started off aggressively, trading punches. Waller and Tyler Bate put up an entertaining back-and-forth.
While Waller had the early edge, Bate fought back well enough toward the end of the match. Waller attempted to use his humor during the match, but it backfired and cost him the match. Waller attempted a roll-up in the last seconds, but he clutched the ropes and the referee caught him. This enabled Bate to reverse the roll-up and win.
Following the bout, a clearly furious Grayson Waller was shouting with Michaels backstage, and Matt Bloom had to drag him away once again. WWE appears to be contemplating a future program involving the Hall of Famer and Waller.
