Now that Austin Theory has expressed interest in the NXT Championship, a cash-in on WWE's third brand offers its own set of advantages that may be investigated.
Austin Theory won WWE Money in the Bank in July despite not being announced for the event beforehand and has been holding the briefcase since since. Fans have been wondering how WWE will handle Theory as the owner of the briefcase. Theory made a surprise cameo on NXT TV last week, teasing cashing up his briefcase on NXT Champion Bron Breakker. However, Theory was unable to be seen when Breakker successfully defended his championship at Halloween Havoc last Saturday.
According to WrestleVotes, a never-before-seen-before plan for Theory has been explored and is “on the table,” which would be for him to be the first man to hold the briefcase for a year. “There is an idea that he is the first guy to wait a full year, like the day of or, let’s say, the night of Money in the Bank next year. That’s the storyline, like ‘you have to cash this in two and a half hours. You have to cash this in 90 minutes.’ That type of thing. I know that idea is on the table.” If he failed his cash-in, WrestleVotes did not specify if WWE would have him become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion at that point.

Theory made a surprise cameo at the end of WWE NXT last week, hinting that he may cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase at Halloween Havoc. The concert ended sans Theory’s participation on Saturday night. Many people were irritated on social media because the corporation teased something and didn’t even try to pay it off.
Mr. Money In The Bank Austin Theory startled the WWE Universe by arriving on the NXT Halloween Havoc go-home program. By looking down the three men who will battle for the brand’s top championship on Saturday, the RAW Superstar hinted at cashing in. Theory’s appearance hinted at a slew of prospective plans for him and the briefcase as the year came to a close.
