WrestleMania 17 pitted two of the most iconic men from the 90s against each other as The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin went head to head.

The two superstars brought the house down as they beat the hell out of each other in a hard-hitting contest. The Texas Rattlesnake had to dig deep into his arsenal to try and take the title away from the People’s Champ.

Mr McMahon made his way to the ring and it felt like the match would be tainted because of outside interference and give the victory to The Rock. What happened next shocked the world as Mr McMahon helped Austin, who was his sworn enemy at the time.

Stone Cold then took out his frustrations on The Rock with a number of chair shots and pinned him to win the title. He then went and shook Mr McMahon’s hand and became the top heel in the company.

Triple H took on The Undertaker in a final bid to break his famous undefeated WrestleMania streak and stepped foot inside the Hell in a Cell structure. The Game wanted to take revenge on the Deadman for retiring his best friend, Shawn Michaels. And what made the match more interesting was Shawn Michaels being the special guest referee.

The match was one epic encounter that saw both superstars being pushed to their absolute limit. Near fall after near fall had fans on the edge of their seats. They invested in the relationship between Triple H and Michaels, and the inevitable Sweet Chin Music from HBK to the Deadman popped the WWE Universe but The Undertaker defied all odds and went on to beat Tripe H to keep his undefeated streak alive.

After the match, which was billed as the end of an era, the three men stood near the entrance ramp and soaked in the adulation of the crowd in what was truly a moment to remember.

Daniel Bryan was riding a wave of fan love in a way that wasn’t seen since the 90’s when Stone Cold and The Rock were so over with the crowd.

Bryan defeated Triple H at the beginning of the show to book his spot in the WWE Championship main event against Randy Orton and Batista. The two members from Evolution combined and worked together to execute a perfect RKO and Batista Bomb on Bryan on the announcer’s table. With Bryan out of the picture, Orton and Batista went at it but the American Dragon soon returned.

Buoyed by the reaction and cheers of the crowd, Daniel Bryan started gaining momentum and made Batista submit to the Yes Lock to capture the WWE title and mark off a fairytale ending.
