WWE utilized Monday night’s “go-home” episode of WWE Raw to build up Saturday’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view event. This included the addition of a new intercontinental championship match for Money in the Bank, with Matt Riddle challenging Gunther, as well as the development of the rivalry between Dominik Mysterio and Cody Rhodes.
At the start of the night, Rhodes tried unsuccessfully to provoke Mysterio into a physical confrontation, only to be hit by another Mysterio cheap shot after the main event. While Rhodes is the better wrestler, Mysterio has won practically every encounter leading up to Money in the Bank.
While Seth Rollins defends his championship against Finn Balor at MITB, Rhodes will compete in the VIP live event versus Mysterio. Gunther and Riddle will also face off in a title battle at the same time. Most importantly, we would see The Bloodline Civil War. It is one of the matchups that fans are most excited about and eager to witness.
