The WWE had a lot of wrestlers that changed characters and gimmicks on a frequent basis but none more so than The Godfather. The Godfather over the years was known by quite a few names – Papa Shango, Kama, The Godfather etc. He first started off in the WWE as Papa Shango, a voodoo practitioner. Then he became Kama “The Supreme Fighting Machine” and then finally he became The Godfather. The Godfather’s gimmick was that of a pimp who would come out with his girls who mainly represented strippers from the local club. He went on to have a lot of rivalries during his time in the WWE and in this article, we will take a look at some of them.

Triple H

The Godfather was riding a wave of success in the WWE when he took on Triple H and defeated him. The Game was the WWE Champion at that time and was an unstoppable force, so it came as a surprise when someone like The Godfather was able to pin him clean. In reality, the match was a perfect one with two men going to and fro after showcasing some great moves. Then, out of nowhere, Shane McMahon and Big Show showed up to interfere in the match and in the process hand The Godfather the most memorable victory of his career.

The Undertaker

The Undertaker feuded with The Godfather when the latter was known as Kama “The Supreme Fighting Machine.” Kama, after joining Ted DiBiase’s Million Dollar Corporation wasted no time and went after The Undertaker. The Phenom as we all know had a special bond with his urn, so it came as a surprise when Kama stole that urn at WrestleMania 11 and had it melted to make a necklace. The Undertaker was livid and went after his rival and won it back from him at SummerSlam. In reality, The Undertaker and The Godfather are very close friends and they share a bond that has lasted for decades and is still going strong even to this day.

Hulk Hogan

The Godfather crossed paths with Hulk Hogan when known as Papa Shango. Papa Shango was shown as a voodoo practitioner who would cast spells on his opponents and make them vomit from afar. Shango was inserted into the main event picture when he interfered in a match between Hulk Hogan and Sid Justice at WrestleMania VIII. Shango actually missed his cue to run in, hitting the ring late. The finish was supposed to be Sid getting disqualified because of Shango breaking up the pinfall attempt by Hogan after he hit the big leg drop. The Ultimate Warrior then returned by running to the ring and helping Hogan against Sid and Shango.
