Tonight’s match between Stacks and Joe Coffey from Gallus was for WWE NXT’s Don, as the outcome would determine Tony D’Angelo’s future. D’Angelo would face a trial and perhaps life in prison if Coffey prevailed. D’Angelo would be a free man if Stacks prevailed. The stakes couldn’t be higher, and it appeared like Coffey and Stacks struck a pact to keep D’Angelo behind bars.

However, things suddenly changed, and it became clear that this had been the original goal all along. D’Angelo is now free after Stacks backs out of the agreement and wins the match using some amusing deception and a tribute to Eddie Guerrero. The return of D’Angelo to NXT the following week was subsequently announced by WWE.

Highlight

Coffey and the rest of Gallus appeared astonished and perplexed at that time. Coffey began ranting at them, informing them that he had reneged on the agreement. He then raged at Stacks, claiming that they had a handshake agreement and that it was business-related. Any agreement reached now seems to be null and void because Stacks screamed again saying he wasn’t a snitch. When Tony D’Angelo contacted from prison after the breach, he informed him that they had Gallus where they wanted them and urged Stacks to confront them.

Joe was able to punch Stacks from behind as Mark and Wolfgang rose to their feet on the ring platform. Joe kept insisting to Stacks that they had an agreement, but Stacks went into overdrive and began to clothesline, shoulder tackle, and slam Joe into the corner.

Return to NXT

After that, Stacks assaulted Wolfgang and Mark was thrown over the ropes by Stacks. Then, without the referee noticing, Stacks took a crowbar from the turnbuckle and struck Joe in the stomach. Wolfgang then entered the ring, but Stacks tossed the crowbar into his hands, causing him to collapse to the floor. When the referee turned around and noticed Stacks lying on the ground and Wolfgang holding a crowbar, he immediately kicked both Mark and Wolfgang out of the ring. Due to Tony D’Angelo’s release and impending return to NXT, Stacks was able to pin Coffey and secure the victory.

We are so excited to witness The Don of NXT returning to the middle of the action after WWE subsequently disclosed that D’Angelo would celebrate his glorious return to NXT the following week with a massive ceremony.
