On July 11, WWE NXT would host the prevailing faction Judgement Day. Finn Bálor, Damian Priest, Rhea Ripley, and Dominik Mysterio were challenged by Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams to compete against them in a gold-plated ring. The victor of Bron Breakker vs. Ilja Dragunov would take over as the new No. 1 contender for the NXT Championship, hence the A Champion would also be keenly watching that matchup.

As Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo battled Joe Coffey, Tony D’Angelo’s future was on the line. Just one week after The Creed Brothers permanently left NXT, Tiffany Stratton would compete against an inspired Ivy Nile in a non-title bout. There was still a lot of work to be done on this programme to prepare for Great American Bash 2023, featuring significant matches and moments all through the evening.

Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams Challenge The Judgment Day

The NXT Universe responded enthusiastically to The Judgement Day before Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams showed up. They demanded a bout tonight between Finn Bálor and Damian Priest. This was a logical way to start the show considering how heavily WWE depends on The Judgement Day to boost the night’s ratings. But it never felt as significant as the artistic ability involved. Judgement Day really suffered a bit in this more intimate setting, unlike many big roster stars who have appeared in NXT. This group can draw huge crowds to venues, but playing on the much smaller Performance Centre arena yields virtually little for them.

Chase U vs. Drew Gulak and Charlie Dempsey

Andre Chase’s entrance back into the ring had the full support of the audience. Following Thea Hail’s ringside Kimura to remove Drew Gulak from the fray, Hudson and Chase attack Charlie Dempsey with the Fratliner to secure the victory. This entertaining game capitalized on the fervor of the fans.

Despite the clear influence of the Chase U student section, NXT matches are just as exciting as Chase U matches, especially now that The Professor is back in action. Despite never having a chance, Gulak and Dempsey did a good enough job in their assigned roles. The technicians, who are better at creating other stars than themselves than NXT, cannot seem to come up with a clear plan for them.

Cora Jade vs. Kelani Jordan

The young Kelani Jordan was no match for Cora Jade, who kept maintaining her fast pace while seizing every opportunity. To win, she used a DDT to plant her. When the two tried to execute their signature offence, things went from being OK to being clumsy. The competition was essentially uneventful, although both women gave it their all. With more experience, Jade and Jordan might make a solid team, but neither one seems prepared to be the offensive coordinator at this time. The plan was to put the youthful Jordan up against a well-known opponent. In fact, she did. She won’t be genuinely prepared to fight at the highest level in the women’s division for some time, though.

Bron Breakker vs. Ilja Dragunov

Ilja Dragunov and Bron Breakker engaged in a violent fight which might have ended both ways. The concluding five minutes were intense, and it actually appeared like either man may prevail in the crucial moments. Dragunov had the right decision, and he won. Carmelo Hayes and Breakker’s relationship is over. The greatest contest of his championship tenure may be provided by The Mad Dragon, who had never fought The A Champion. Fans may not see Breakker in NXT again after this. He has defeated several stars in NXT who were on their way out, and he will soon establish himself as a dominant force on Raw or SmackDown.

Tiffany Stratton vs. Ivy Nile

Ivy Nile put up a valiant fight but was obviously preoccupied and missed The Creed Brothers. She was imprisoned by Nile in a dragon sleeper, but Stratton managed to free her by throwing her through a turnbuckle. To win, she executed the Prettiest Moonsault Ever while rolling in a fireman’s carry. While Hail is undoubtedly scheduled for a rematch with Stratton shortly, Nile might also emerge as a significant rival soon.

Although she was defeated this time, it is conceivable that the dragon sleeper could have caused the champion to submit. While The Creed Brothers gained from having Nile on their side, she might gain personally from going it alone. She spent some time in NXT working under their shadow.

Joe Coffey vs. Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo

Joe Coffey won this match handily, but Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo was more fired up than usual after promising Tony D’Angelo he wouldn’t let him down. He defeated the Gallus captain by using a crowbar behind the referee’s back and a running knee drop. This game had a lot of twists and turns. Stacks said he hadn’t betrayed The Don, but to pull off a spectacular win he had to battle through all three of them.

Although some of the revelations were badly timed, altogether, it was a good experience. One of Stacks’ finest performances in the ring saw him deliver. Because The Underboss had to use every trick in the book to triumph, Gallus did not lose anything throughout.

Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams vs. Judgment Day

Carmelo Hayes was the target of Damian Priest’s attempt to use the Money in the Bank briefcase. The NXT champion was being saved by Ilja Dragunov when Melo collided with him. As a result, The Punishment was able to attack South of Heaven and subsequently pin The A Champion with the Coup de Grace from Finn Bálor. Although it is disappointing to watch The A Champion lose once more, it was unavoidable.

Melo is still ill-prepared for Judgement Day-caliber combat. However, it appears as though The A Champion is preparing to defeat The Prince in the future. The last misunderstanding between Melo and Dragunov shielded the champion while inflaming their potential rivalry. Overall, it was a clever way to cap off a fantastic evening.

Complete Event

NXT occasionally used gas to cook this week. The crowd was loud. The movement was strong. Although nothing from this concert will likely be recalled in a few months, it fulfilled its job perfectly. Great American Bash 2023 is in a solid direction. It is almost certain to be an event that surpasses Battleground in quality.
