Terry Funk in his hardcore career has been a great inspiration to many generations of wrestlers. Starting wrestling from a young age and learning the techniques, this legend of a man has given many bloody and great matches. He also can be said as one of the hardcore kings in wrestling history. His legacy can be counted as one of the greatest for like his name Funk he had funky moves and was a showstopper. His skill was simply so impressive that he shined like a bright star. With his violent matches and hardcore style, he was just brilliant! So, today we will look at some of his greatest rivalries and matches and remember Chainsaw Charlie Terry Funk.

Bret Hart

Terry Funk’s retirement extravaganza in 1997 included talent from WWE, ECW, and other firms collaborating for one night only. In a non-title bout, Funk faced WWE Champion Bret Hart in the main event. Given the circumstances of the event, fans were unanimous in their support for Funk. With a protracted back-and-forth contest, both guys demonstrated their stamina. Hart won the bout, but he immediately showed respect for Funk afterward. In a few months, Funk would come out of retirement to work for WWE.

Mick Foley

The finest Terry Funk bout in WWE history occurred during a Raw program in 1998. Mick Foley and his longtime mentor Funk fought toe-to-toe in a brutal match with Steve Austin on commentary, battling all over the place. As Raw’s main event, the aggressive bout kept the fans interested from start to finish. Foley defeated the more experienced wrestler to win the match. During his battle with Austin, the victory helped Foley become a stronger threat to the WWE Championship.

Ric Flair

At the Clash of the Champions IX event, the Ric Flair versus Terry Funk feud reached its pinnacle. In the main event, both wrestlers squared battle with the unique stipulation of an “I Quit” match. Both Funk and Flair were fairly aggressive in their attempts to get the other to give up. Flair finally won the bout by forcing Funk to resign, although both men were regarded as top-tier superstars throughout their appearances. Against the company’s face, Funk showed his capacity to flourish in the main event picture of an important show.
