On Friday, Pretty Deadly offered the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Champions everything they could take, but in the end, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn had successfully defended their championships once more. “WWE SmackDown” began with a back-and-forth championship match in which Elton Prince and Kit Wilson each successfully executed their signature moves, the Cry Martini and Spilt Milk, but it wasn’t enough to win. Before Zayn broke up the latter, Owens, who had been playing with an ankle ailment since the middle of the game, was able to kick out of the former.
In an effort to trick Zayn, Prince and Wilson pulled their switcharoo shenanigans late in the match, so Pretty Deadly wasn’t quite over. Even yet, it wasn’t nearly enough because Zayn kicked out before hitting Wilson with an Exploder to prepare for the Helluva Kick. And just as Prince was about to intervene one final time, Owens arrived and presented an incredible performance.
We now focus on the tag champions’ upcoming plans. The WWE Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER is in a title fight with their ally, Matt Riddle, even if Owens and Zayn aren’t on the Money in the Bank card this weekend. They have been involved in a conflict with Imperium recently.

The champions discussed their triumph in a SmackDown Exclusive. Zayn complimented Pretty Deadly but criticized Owens for emphasizing their size too much. They appeared to be really large, he observed. “Honestly, I know people can easily look at them and get distracted by the fact that look, they’re here. Means they’re on a certain level to be here, and they’re the number one contenders for the tag team titles, means you have to be at a certain level. It’s very easy sight of that, the disco ball, and the song.” Sami Zayn expressed.
“Deceptively big gentlemen. They’re big guys. They’re tall, they’re broad-shouldered. Too heavy. Trying to pick you up here. Of course he’s fighting against the Big.My ankle, smashed my ankle on that cannonball. Maybe I should stop doing it. I know, but it hurts me every single time. Should I not learn?“ Kevin Ownes added.
Later, Owens mentioned that he had to go get his ankle treated. He and Zayn left the interview to visit the trainer when it was over.
