Several previous Superstars returned last summer. Johnny Gargano, Dakota Kai, Braun Strowman, and Bronson Reed all returned to the promotion under the Game’s supervision. Despite bringing back people who had previously worked for the organization, the debut of Dragon Lee in NXT signaled that WWE was trying to bring back some of wrestling’s best free agents.

That seems to be the case when they pursued former NJPW stars Jay White and Kota Ibushi. Both former IWGP Heavyweight Champions recently departed Japan’s top organization, attracting the attention of WWE and AEW. However, White was just verified as being ‘All Elite’ after making his unexpected debut on the April 5th edition of AEW Dynamite, and Ibushi claimed in a recent interview that AEW was his number-one choice. After failing to get two big-name free agents, Triple H is now pressing for WWE to sign another prominent free agent.

Who is it that Triple H wants to hire?

According to Fightful Select, the Game is “high on Nick Aldis” and wants to add him to the roster; but, with the return of Vince McMahon and the multi-billion dollar merger with UFC, there has been a “hiring freeze” inside the corporation.

Aldis is a former TNA and NWA World Heavyweight Champion with a great look, promo, and ring talent. He was the face of NWA for years and took over the promotion at its 2018 relaunch.

He held the NWA World’s Heavyweight Championship for 1043 days before asking his departure from the organization. The actor was suspended after publicly criticizing the promotion’s creative direction. Following his suspension, Billy Corgan released Aldis. Aldis has returned to the indie circuit since leaving NWA, despite strong suspicions that he is headed to WWE.

Did you know Triple H fears his wife?

Stephanie McMahon is a notoriously harsh entrepreneur. She has a powerful on-screen presence that will frighten almost anyone. Her ruthlessness aided her takeover of WWE after Vince McMahon retired last year. She took over as Chairperson and Co-CEO alongside Nick Khan until her father returned, at which point she elected to leave the firm. Her bravery and frightening demeanor appear to be more than simply a television character.

Last year, Triple H appeared as a guest on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast. Logan Paul remarked during the interview that he wanted to talk about Stephanie McMahon, adding that she was in the studio off-camera. Triple H, on the other hand, was eager to warn Logan Paul about his wife. He joked that he was afraid of her and urged that Logan be as well.

“If you want her to whip your a** go ahead I don’t care. I’m scared of her, you should be too. Yeah, let me just say. You’ve been hit hard, her slap will take your eye out of you head, I’m just saying,” he said.

Stephanie McMahon’s image as a tough and scary businesswoman is well-deserved, both on and off-screen. Keep tuned to Ringside News for more such articles. Do you believe Stephanie’s no-nonsense attitude is critical to her success in the WWE and in business? Or do you believe you can be successful without being ruthless?
