Ted DiBiase Jr. retired from professional wrestling in 2013 and has since pursued various endeavors. DiBiase has appeared in several films, including “The Marine 2” and “The Price of Fame,” a documentary about his father’s life. He used to run a real estate company and has been involved in various business ventures, including the development of a sports complex in Mississippi.

Following the announcement that Ted DiBiase Jr. has been charged by the Department of Justice in the Mississippi welfare fraud case, there has been speculation on social media regarding what he’s been up to since leaving WWE in 2013. Chris Van Vliet got the opportunity to interview DiBiase, Jr. in July 2021, and he discussed the initiatives he was participating in.

DiBiase Jr. mentioned a firm named “16 Creative” that he founded with combat veterans. He also stated that his firm worked on his father’s website and handled some “product development,” and that the Junkyard Dog brand will be revived through his inheritance. He also stated that certain NFL and NBA legends will be making announcements.

When asked what he does on a day-to-day basis, he said, “Yea, I’ve got an insurance company we’re launching in September I’m excited about. I was doing a lot of speaking and personal, professional, and leadership development training leading up to COVID. So that hit. Loved doing that but this is becoming more of a day-to-day. It’s really been fun because it’s got me reconnected with fans.”

Ted DiBiase Jr. not a big social media fan

DiBiase Jr. continued saying, “I’ve been kind of off social media because you don’t want to get out there and promote a ton of stuff. I spent a lot of time since I left wrestling trying to find what am I doing next, like who is Ted DiBiase? People ask my wife or anybody that knows me closely, ‘What’s Teddy doing these days?’ That’s a loaded question, man.”

He continued saying, “There’s a lot of business development deals. I’ve done a lot of biz dev, and consulting. Just really connecting dots for guys. Working with some incredible companies. Delos, a company out of New York City doing some great things. We could be here for an hour talking about all the different kind of deals, the opportunities that really have been afforded to me because of my time at WWE. I just learned how to capitalize on those. It took a minute and losing a lot…”

DiBiase Jr. was accused on Thursday of stealing millions of dollars in government subsidies intended for poor families. It is unclear whether the enterprises mentioned in the interview are part of the allegations leveled against him. DiBiase Jr. is assumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
