The American Nightmare, Cody  Rhodes has been on a tear ever since he came back to the WWE. Cody made his successful return at WrestleMania last year after being away from the company for six years and defeated Seth Rollins in what can be described as a five star match.

Since then, Cody had a trilogy of matches with Rollins, winning all of them before being out for more than eight months due to a torn pectoral muscle. He came back at the Royal Rumble and won the match booking his place at WrestleMania where he will challenge Roman Reigns for the undisputed Universal Heavyweight title.

Rhodes can be seen rocking ring gear that is very patriotic and he has revealed the reason behind that. Speaking on the AJ Awesome show, Cody said, “If you look up military dress uniforms, all different armies all over the globe there’s some amazing just, the pageantry is really special. To see some of these old outfits be able to be utilized I think it goes along a lot with the ‘American Nightmare’ side of what I do.”

He also praised Sandra Gray who has been designing his outfits since his early days in the company. “After that, I feel like I want to just maintain that style, you know you find your yellow trunks, you find your jean shorts, you find this thing you want to stick with. But Sandra’s a designer, she’s an artist, she wants to keep coming up with stuff. As long as it kind of comes back to that original look that she came up with, it’s so special.”

Cody Rhodes is a massive fan of Triple H

After winning the 202 WWE Royal Rumble, Rhodes spoke to the press and was asked by a reporter how much WWE has changed since Triple H became the head of creative to which he said, “I’m clearly a massive Triple H fan. So, I’m glad that he’s the coach and I get to play and I wanna play quarterback. And I’m just again I owe him a lot for how he handled my dad, but I don’t want him to look at me and see my dad.”

He also mentioned that he is fortunate to come back to the WWE. “I was very fortunate that when I came back, I had enough experience that I didn’t, I always need structure and I need direction. You guys have seen me without a leash before I get a little wild.

“So, it was great to have that structure but I have had an unbelievable experience and unbelievable education in wrestling. Really I am not meant to do anything else, this is what I do. So, it was easy then. When I came back and Vince was incharge of that and it is easy now.”
