Kurt Angle, a member of the WWE Hall of Fame, believes Cody Rhodes will succeed at WrestleMania 39. At The Grandest Stage of Them All in April, The American Nightmare and Roman Reigns will square off for the coveted Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. After defeating 29 other men to win the Royal Rumble match, he gained the opportunity to compete for the title. Cody Rhodes will unseat Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39, according to The Olympic Gold Medalist on the most recent episode of the Kurt Angle Show.

He continued by saying that it wouldn’t surprise him if Rhea Ripley also defeated Charlotte Flair. “Without a doubt, I think those matches are going to be really, really good. You know, Cody Rhodes. I’m expecting him to win this thing. I think it’s his time and Rhea Ripley, I wouldn’t doubt if she won it, too. She’s been up and coming. She’s been pretty strong lately. So, you never know,” said Angle.

The Invincible

In the last three years, no WWE superstar has been able to defeat Roman Reigns. He has defeated many notable figures, including Godberg, John Cena, and Brock Lesnar, three of the biggest personalities who have ever entered a wrestling ring. Being the top babyface on RAW right now, The American Nightmare has a lot of support from fans who want him to win at WrestleMania 39.

The Return

The WWE Championship was a major factor in Rhodes’ comeback to the corporation. Cody has yet to lose a TV match, and there’s a chance he’ll keep his winning streak going by nailing as many Crossroads as he can to put Roman Reigns away for the three count.

Cody Rhodes wasn’t the initial choice

WWE reportedly tried bringing in The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania before Cody Rhodes came back to win the men’s Royal Rumble match and secure his meeting with fate. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, if the American Nightmare was not WWE’s first option for Reigns, there is a potential that the corporation may not be totally dedicated to Rhodes as champion.

”The fact WWE wanted Dwayne Johnson in the spot, and even contacted Steve Austin for the spot, tells you they weren’t married to the idea of Rhodes having to headline the show or win the title, at least from Reigns.”

Elimination Chamber

Even though everyone is anticipating the match between Rhodes and Reigns, there is still another stop before WrestleMania. Sami Zayn and the Tribal Chief are expected to square off in the Elimination Chamber. There is a possibility that Roman Reigns won’t be the undisputed WWE Universal Champion at WrestleMania due to the event being held in Sami’s native Montreal, Canada.
