If Alexa Bliss departs from WWE, where can she go next?

Alexa Bliss began her career as a cheerleader and then transitioned to fitness and bodybuilding before being signed by WWE in 2013. She initially worked as a manager for several wrestlers before making her in-ring debut in 2014.

Alexa Bliss is a well-known wrestler in the WWE women’s division. She’s a multiple-time champion, having held nine titles in all. Still, she and her fans have had a difficult time in WWE in recent years. Opinions on why continue to differ, but it’s apparent she’s in a different position than she was early in her main roster career. What if Bliss left and took her talents to other positions? Outside of WWE, Alexa Bliss has the potential to prosper.

Bliss won the singles main roster title five times between December 2016 and August 2018. Her 223-day reign as WWE Raw Women’s Champion is one of the longest in the company’s history. However, her status has evolved with time, and she has taken a back seat while women like Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley continue to dominate professional wrestling. Between 2016 and 2019, Bliss would compete in 27 PPV/PLE matchups. This figure would fall to 15 between 2020 and 2023, a significant decrease.

Bliss was once the right sort of talent to become a “WWE Superstar.” Her appearance matched what WWE typically promoted to the top of the roster, and her character performance was among the greatest in the organization. Yes, she didn’t have the high-quality matches that would rank at the top of any in-ring fan’s list, but she was reliable when required. Those abilities propelled Bliss to early success in the WWE, but they were cut in half in 2018.

Bliss has publicly expressed her frustration on her social media, with her followers usually coming to her side. So, what would happen if Bliss dropped out of the promotion?

IMPACT Wrestling might be a good fit for her

The term “Go to AEW” may spring to mind at first, but Bliss would be a better fit in the IMPACT Wrestling women’s division. Some may want to see Bliss and Britt Baker trade promos, but will Bliss be able to stay up with the in-ring flair that AEW fans expect? Many people were concerned about Mercedes Mone moving to Japan, but her WWE resume provided the foundation needed to demonstrate that she could and did keep up when the demands were the fiercest. Could Bliss step up to the plate in AEW? That is the crucial question.

However, in IMPACT, Bliss’s strongest character traits would shine. This isn’t to say that Impact’s women’s division works at a slower pace than AEW’s, but their approach is more closely linked with WWE’s, providing Bliss with a basis to work with. She would be able to thrive in that company with less of the vitriolic backlash that may come from All Elite Wrestling’s hardcore fan base.

Alexa Bliss is a gifted performer who has had much success as a professional wrestler. Her present position on the roster may not be where she and her fans want her to be, but she still has a lot to give the business. If she were to leave WWE, there would be room for her to continue her outstanding career, and the IMPACT Wrestling women’s roster would be her best option.
