Finn Balor was an established star on the independent scene when WWE signed him and there was huge fanfare. Triple H played an integral part in signing the famous Irishman and Balor has not disappointed. He was the star of New Japan Pro Wrestling and was instrumental in forming the famous Bullet Club stable.

In his brief WWE career, Finn has seen it all. He scaled the highest of highs when he won the Universal title to the lowest of lows when he had to relinquish the same title to injury the very next day. He has of course gone on to have interesting rivalries during his time and in this article, we will be looking at some of his best.

Samoa Joe

The feud that Balor had with Joe was one of the longest of his career. The two men had great matches against each other and memorable ones at that. The match that they had at NXT Takeover: Dallas is still fondly remembered by fans to this day.

They even formed a tag team and won the inaugural Dusty Rhodes Class Tournament. Joe eventually turned on Finn in his quest to take away his NXT title. Joe is still the only wrestler in WWE to defeat Balor when using the Demon gimmick.

Seth Rollins

Finn Balor had his greatest moment in WWE when he was involved with Seth Rollins. Balor received a massive push when he was pitted against Seth Rollins at Summerslam 2016 with both men looking to become the first Universal Championship.

Both men went to war and the match was end to end and a technical masterclass. Balor eventually won the match and was crowned the inaugural WWE Universal Champion but sadly, a shoulder injury forced Balor to relinquish the title the very next day on RAW. Rollins and Balor had great chemistry and delivered a few more fun matches in the future when both went head to head for the Intercontinental Championship.

Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar had to defend his Universal title against Finn Balor in the 2019 Royal Rumble and the two men dished out a great match. Balor was forced to wait for two years to get a shot at the title that he never lost in the first place.

Finn looked great in the match and the fans inside the arena were very much into the thick of the action. Fans loved the fact that Balor was shown as a legitimate threat to Lesnar. The Irishman would eventually go on to lose against the Beast but it was a great showing as Finn proved he could go toe to toe with the company’s top star.
