JOHN CENA

With the Money In The Bank suitcase in his hands, Ziggler would enter a feud with John Cena. It started when The Showoff accused him of being in a relationship with AJ Lee. Cena would then attempt to take the briefcase in a ladder match, but AJ would interfere and helped Ziggler retain his title opportunity.

The rivalry between Cena and Ziggler would continue and help establish not only The Showoff as a main event talent but also highlight AJ Lee’s character and introduce the world to Big E, who would join the new stable.

EDGE

In 2011, Ziggler would compete for the World Heavyweight Championship, which was held by Edge. The Showoff would have the advantage as the Acting General Manager Of SmackDown, Vicki Guerrero, would be in his corner. Guerrero would give Ziggler a title shot and ban the spear from being used in the match. But the Rated R Superstar couldn’t help himself and speared Ziggler, allowing The Showoff to become the new champion. The rivalry helped Ziggler become a more hated heel by showing he’ll do whatever it takes to get the gold. However, Ziggler would only hold onto the gold for mere minutes as Edge quickly challenge The Showoff for the title and won it cleanly.

CHRIS JERICO

In 2012, The Showoff would pick a fight with Chris Jericho by claiming that Y2J had lost his touch. This led to Jericho beating down Ziggler on several occasions, which resulted in a match between the two being scheduled for SummerSlam.

Jericho would pick up the victory and prove he was still the best in the world. But the next night on RAW, Ziggler would win the rematch that resulted in Y2J’s contract being terminated. Getting a legend like Jericho fired was another feather in Ziggler’s cap and helped his star to continue to rise.
