India competed in the 2022 Asia Cup in Jakarta and the 2021 Asian Championship Trophy in Dhaka following the Games in Japan.
The Indian men’s hockey team will play Ghana to open its 2022 Commonwealth Games campaign. After that, the team will ace a stiff challenge in hosts England. Ever since the Tokyo Olympics last year, the athletic prowess hockey has been growing in India. In order to earn the bronze medal in the competition, the squad ended a four-decade dry spell, and since then, things have improved. India competed in the 2022 Asia Cup in Jakarta and the 2021 Asian Championship Trophy in Dhaka following the Games in Japan. Both times, the squad came in third place. Under Manpreet Singh’s direction, the men’s team will be attempting to break the unfavourable record of 12 years without a medal at the Commonwealth Games.
