This win positioned her as the then youngest female golfer to secure a major championship.
The following year, Thompson triumphed at the Meijer LPGA Classic and the LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship, earning her fifth and sixth wins respectively. The 2015 season saw her earning $1,763,904 in prize money, which landed her the fifth spot on the annual earnings list. In 2016, she added the Honda LPGA Thailand to her long list of accomplishments. She further achieved victory on the Japanese circuit (her first in the circuit) at the World Ladies Championship Salonpas Cup. Her performance at the 2021 U.S. Women’s Open was impressive as she placed 10th on the LPGA’s all-time money list with $12,608,045.
