Zhejiang Professional will host Shandong Taishan in a Chinese Super League fixture at Wuyuan River Stadium on Saturday. Both sides are heading into the tie on the back of convincing victories. The home side got the better of Guangzhou City 4-2 last Monday while a day later, Shandong Taishan thrashed Dalian Pro 3-0. Shandong has made an impressive start to the 2022 CSL season winning four of their five opening games to occupy the fourth spot, while the Green Giants managed to secure only one victory so far and are languishing at the 13 spot with five points from a possible 15.
At Wuyuan River Stadium Field 2, on last Monday, Jordi Vinyals’ side netted four times through strikes from Franko Andrijasevic, Jin Cheng and Donova Ewolo. Although Gong Zhang and Li Tixiang struck for Guangzhou to reduce the deficit, the visitors held on to the lead and secured their first victory of the campaign and all three points. Prior to that, the Green Giants had lost two and drawn two. Unbeaten in each of their last four games at home, Vinyls’ side would be aiming to continue their surge up.
Shandong Taishan, on the other hand, put three goals past Dalian Pro without reply on last Tuesday. Marouane Fellaini opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time before Moises Lima Magalhaes doubled the lead five minutes from time. And then, in the injury-time, Qi Tianyu completed the drubbing with the home side’s third goal of the night. It was a complete performance from the team of Mount Tai as they created a good number of goal scoring chances, were clinical up front and the defence looked solid.

Zhejiang attacking midfielder Andrijasevic, who netted a brace against Guangzhou, would be the key player for the home side. Mushekwi is likely to lead the attack with Cheng and Ewolo occupying the flanks. As for Shandong, Last game’s goal scorers Fellaini and Tianyu are pushing for a place in the starting eleven. Midfielder Moises has now netted three times in his last two games and he would be key to Sandong’s success this season.

The Chinese Super League fixture between Zhejiang Professional and Shandong Taishan will take place at the Wuyuan River Stadium and it will kickoff at 5:00 pm IST on June 25, Saturday.
