West Bromwich Albion are winless in the Championship this season till now. They have played two and drawn two.
In an all-Championship affair, West Bromwich Albion will host Sheffield United in the first round of the EFL Cup on Thursday. This season, both sides are expected to fight for promotion from this division to the Premier League. However, their start to the new campaign in the Championship has been a mixed one. Either way, for now, they will keep their league concerns aside and will focus on having a long run in this year’s EFL Cup. The match being played at Hawthorns might give West Brom some advantage, however, it will be difficult to call a winner as there is very little to separate the two sides.

Both teams will have some of their important players missing the match due to injuries. Daryl Dike could very well miss this clash and it would be a big blow for them, while it is unclear if Okay Yokuslu is fit enough to start the game. They are also expected to make a lot of rotation to give fringe players game time on Thursday. Meanwhile, Sheffield United’s injury list is a big one. Jack O’Connell will be joined on the sidelines by Jack Robinson, Chris Basham and Enda Stevens. It is not clear how long Tommy Doyle and Oli McBurnie will take to return back to full fitness.
