Vancouver are currently placed 11th in the 14-team Eastern Conference table with 21 points from 17 games, while the visitors occupy the top spot, having pocketed 15 points more than their Saturday’s opponents.

Last Sunday’s draw against New England, helped Vanni Sartini’s side to extend their unbeaten run at home to seven straight games. The 2022 campaign has been an adventure for the Blue and White, defeating York United 2-1 in the semi-finals of Canadian Championship on June 22, while earning victories against Real Salt Lake and FC Dallas, who are placed in the top-four, earlier in June.The Village have been in pretty good form having won three of their last five league games. Vancouver are now trailing the Seattle Sounders by only two points for that final position in the Western Conference.
Los Angeles FC, on the other hand, have won four of their last five league games to move to 36 points and take a five point lead over second-placed Austin in the standings. Against FC Dallas, last Wednesday, the Black and Gold took the lead mid-way through the first half through Danny Musovski before Jesus Ferreira equalised for the visitors. After the break, LAFC came out all guns blazing and netted two goals through Cristian Arango and Kwadwo Opoku to take all three points.

Vancouver Whitecaps goalkeeper Cody Cropper, who has kept three clean sheets at home in all competitions, would keep his place in the starting eleven, with Javain, Brown, Ranko Veselinovic and Tristan Blackmon forming the three-man defence. Midfielder Sebastian Berhalter is sidelined with a right foot stress fracture while Erik Godoy and Cristian Gutierrez are nursing calf problems.
