In the world of football, the summer transfer window of 2023 is causing a lot of excitement. Players are changing teams, and this is making fans incredibly happy. This creates a lot of anticipation and joy among fans as they see their favorite teams getting new players and improving their squads. But amidst all the transfers, there’s one specific story that’s catching everyone’s eyes and making them really excited. Chelsea is close to securing Michael Olise from Crystal Palace for a reported amount of £35 million, using his release clause, in line with their move for Roméo Lavia from Southampton. These transfers would take Chelsea’s summer spending to £175 million. Olise, recovering from a hamstring injury, awaits a medical for the move. His addition bolsters Mauricio Pochettino’s attacking midfield choices, competing with Sterling, Mudryk, and Madueke for wing roles.

Arsenal has confirmed David Raya’s season-long loan deal from Brentford, sparking a competition for the goalkeeper position alongside Aaron Ramsdale. The loan costs Arsenal £3 million, and there’s an option to make the transfer permanent for £27 million, as per reports. This addition strengthens the team, as stated by Arsenal’s Sporting Director Edu. Manchester City’s unexpected interest in West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta has raised eyebrows. Despite a £70 million bid reportedly being rejected, City could make an improved offer. Paqueta’s contract with West Ham runs until 2027, offering the club an advantage. Manchester City appears financially capable of pursuing the move due to their champion status.

Bayern Munich eyeing David de Gea

Former Manchester United star David de Gea, who is currently a free agent, is reportedly being considered by Bayern Munich for a potential transfer. The Bundesliga champions are in need of a new goalkeeper due to Manuel Neuer’s ongoing fitness issues, leaving Sven Ulreich as the sole fit keeper in the team. Initially, Bayern had looked at Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea and Ajax’s Geronimo Rulli as options, but both deals fell through due to various reasons. As a result, talks have begun with De Gea, who is seen as the second-choice option after Manchester City’s Stefan Ortega. De Gea has reportedly given his approval for the move, and if the Ortega deal doesn’t happen, a transfer for De Gea could be finalized.

Bernardo Silva verbally agrees for an extension with Manchester City

Amid PSG and Barcelona’s interest, Bernardo Silva is reportedly close to extending his contract with Manchester City until 2026, as per Italian Journalist and Transfer Expert Fabrizio Romano. Silva’s current deal expires in 2025, and the new contract is expected to include an alleged €50 million release clause for activation next summer. Since his 2017 arrival from AS Monaco, Silva has been a key player for City, contributing 55 goals and 59 assists in 308 games, clinching five Premier League titles. Despite PSG and Barcelona’s pursuit, City aims to keep Silva, with Manager Pep Guardiola emphasizing that a proper offer would be required. Barcelona signed Ilkay Gundogan this summer, and PSG faces Marco Verratti’s potential departure.

Al Nassr inching closer to Aymeric Laporte

Manchester City has reportedly approved an offer for Aymeric Laporte, marking their third major departure this summer. Saudi club Al Nassr is now in a position to negotiate terms with Laporte, hoping to convince him to leave the Treble-winning team for a fresh challenge. Former City teammate Riyad Mahrez has already moved to the same league, joining Al Ahli allegedly for £30 million. Laporte has been open to leaving due to limited starts last season. Despite initial lack of interest, he trained with City and made a substitute appearance in their Premier League opener. Al Nassr, featuring Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane, aims for a swift deal after starting their league campaign. City, having lost Mahrez and Gundogan, might not seek a replacement for Laporte with the addition of Josko Gvardiol.
