In the 2023 summer transfer window of football, there are big and exciting changes going on. Players are changing teams, making fans really happy. But there’s one news story that’s getting everyone super excited and interested. Manchester United’s initial bid for Benjamin Pavard, a French defender from Bayern Munich, was turned down. Talks continue as Harry Maguire’s possible move to West Ham shifts United’s defensive plans. Pavard is a top choice among others like Guehi, Todibo, and Tapsoba. He could replace Maguire, with United aiming for a reported deal below €35 million. Maguire’s agreement with West Ham speeds things up. Pavard’s contract ending at Bayern boosts United’s position. He could meet Ten Hag’s needs, filling a right-back spot with Raphael Varane.

Neymar, the Brazilian PSG forward, apparently agreed to join Saudi’s Al Hilal for two years. PSG and Al Hilal are discussing it. Neymar might reportedly earn over €160 million. He joined PSG in 2017 for an alleged amount of €222 million, playing 112 matches, scoring 82 goals. With Messi gone and Mbappe maybe leaving, this is significant for the Saudi league, following Ronaldo’s move. Chelsea’s goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga might go on loan to Real Madrid for a season, despite having two contract years left. No purchase clause is surprising, given Kepa’s value. Real Madrid urgently needs a goalie due to Courtois’ injury. Robert Sánchez steps in next, but they might recall Slonina.

Romeo Lavia picks Chelsea over Liverpool

Roméo Lavia reportedly prefers joining Chelsea over Liverpool, as Liverpool’s alleged £60m deal with Southampton for the midfielder stands. Chelsea’s reported offer of £50m plus add-ons might secure him, marking a potential victory over Liverpool for another midfield target. Jürgen Klopp’s midfield strengthening desires were hit by Chelsea signing Moisés Caicedo from Brighton for a British record of £115m reportedly. Chelsea’s pursuit of Lavia led to an alleged £55m bid. Liverpool, needing midfield reinforcements after Southampton’s relegation, raised their bid after staying below £45m, as per reports.

Tottenham Hotspur eyeing Romelu Lukaku

Chelsea FC reportedly wants £38.7 million from Tottenham Hotspur for Romelu Lukaku’s transfer, with advanced talks ongoing. Tottenham is seeking a replacement for Harry Kane, who moved to Bayern Munich, possibly gaining reportedly up to £100 million with add-ons. Tottenham’s manager, Ange Postecoglou, faces a striker issue, with only Richarlison available. Lukaku’s acquisition could help. Lukaku wants to leave Chelsea, as Inter Milan and Juventus options faded. Tottenham might agree if Lukaku’s personal preference allows. He’s hesitant about staying in the Premier League but prefers Tottenham over Saudi Arabia. Lukaku is currently training at Chelsea’s facility and might consider the Saudi Pro League later.

FC Barcelona bid for Manchester City’s Joao Cancelo

Barcelona is progressing in their pursuit of Manchester City’s right-back João Cancelo. They’ve submitted a formal bid for a season-long loan with a purchase option. Talks in the coming days are crucial for the 29-year-old’s agreement. Importantly, personal terms are settled, implying that Cancelo’s salary matter is resolved. He’s likely agreed to reduce his wages to fit Barça’s financial and La Liga’s salary cap requirements. The ball is now in City’s court to accept the offer. Although City prefers a permanent transfer, Cancelo’s preference for Barça and Pep Guardiola’s desire for a quick resolution due to player relationships suggest a deal is imminent.
