The Saudi Pro League is making constant efforts to attract high-profile players to their league, following the notable addition of Cristiano Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, who joined last December for a staggering salary of over 220 million dollars per year. Saudi Arabian clubs have reached out to players such as Sergio Ramos, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, Roberto Firmino, Hugo Lloris, and Luka Modric in an attempt to persuade them to make a move to the Middle East. According to a source close to Lionel Messi, the captain of the Argentina national team, he had received a formal offer from Al-Hilal, but the 35-year-old World Cup champion has decided to join Inter Miami in the United States.

Kante has enjoyed a successful stay at Chelsea, winning the Champions League, Premier League, Europa League and FA Cup during his seven years at the club. The French World Cup winner has made 269 appearances for Chelsea, in which he has scored many goals and provided many assists to his teammates. Kante has won numerous individual awards at Chelsea and he also won the PFA Player of the Year and FWA Footballer of the Year after his title winning campaign with Chelsea in 2016/17.

N’Golo Kante Al-Ittihad debut

The recently concluded 2022/23 season of the Saudi Pro League saw Al-Ittihad clinch the top spot, securing a five-point lead over Al-Nassr, the team led by Cristiano Ronaldo. As a result, fans will have to wait until the next league season commences to witness Kante in official league action. The 2023/24 Saudi Pro League is scheduled to start on August 11, 2023, with Al-Ittihad aiming to secure another title.

Although specific details are currently limited, it can be anticipated that Kante will be able to play in the pre season games of his new club. Furthermore, Al-Ittihad’s qualification for the AFC Champions League ensures that Kante will also make his debut in this competition. The group stage of the 2023/24 AFC Champions League is set to commence in September 2023.
