Napoli made a strong start to the 2022-23 Serie A season, registering back-to-back victories against Verona (5-2) and Monza (4-0) before sharing the spoils against Fiorentina. After scoring nine goals from their first two games, Luciano Spalletti’s side were denied a breakthrough despite fielding a strong attacking lineup at Stadio Artemio Frachi. Prior to the Fiorentina draw, the Blues netted four times against Monza without reply. Khvicha Kvaratshkelia netted abrace while Victor Osimhen and Kim Min-jae scored one goal each to help Napoli take all three points against Monza.

After the game against Lecce, Napoli will travel to Stadio Olimpico to take on Lazio before hosting Liverpool in their opening match of the 2022-23 Champions League campaign. Lecce, on the other hand, managed to get their first point on board last Sunday, courtesy of Gabriel Strefezza’s equaliser. The newly promoted outfit began their Serie A campaign with two successive defeats against Inter Milan (2-1) and Sassuolo (1-0). Last season’s Serie B champions also crashed out of the Coppa Italia to Cittadella at the start of August.
Napoli boss Spalletti might opt to make some changes to the starting eleven, keeping in mind the tougher tests coming up. Osimhen is likely to lead the line with Politano, Raspadori and Kvaratskhelia in support. Anguissa and Lobotka could sit in front of the back-four. As for Lecce, World Cup winning defender Samuel Umtini, who joined the club on loan from Barcelona is expected to make his debut on Wednesday. Strefezza, Ceesay and Di Francesco could form the front-three.
Napoli probable starting lineup: Meret, Di Lorenzo, Kim, Rahmani, Rui, Anguissa, Lobotka, Politano, Raspadori, Kvaratskhelia, Osimhen
Lecce probable starting lineup: Falcone, Gendrey, Baschirotto, Pongracic, Gallo, Bristrovic, Hjulmand, Gonzalez, strefezza, Ceesay, Di Francesco
