Juventus began their 2022-23 Serie A season on a positive note, thrashing Sassuolo 3-0, but then, played out two successive draws against Sampdoria (0-0) and Roma (1-0). In their recent outing against the Little Cubs, Dusan Vlahovic’s stunning freekick goal gave the lead to Bianconeri inside the opening two minutes. But Roma equalised through Tammy Abraham in the 69th-minute to share the spoils. After the game against Spezia, Juventus will take on Fiorentina next Saturday, before starting their Champions League campaign against PSG in Paris on September 6.

Spezia, on the other hand, have had a mixed start to the season, recording one win, a draw and a defeat so far. The Little Eagles kicked off their Serie A campaign with a narrow 1-0 win over Empoli before being thrashed 3-0 at Inter Milan. In their last game against Sassuolo, Simone Bastoni and M’Bala Nzola netted for the Little Eagles to earn a point. Meanwhile Spezia ended the match with a man less as Albin Ekdal received a red card, nine minutes from time.Â
Juventus’ new signing Arkadiusz Milk featured from the bench last Saturday and is likely to get more game-time on Wednesday. Forward Federico Chiesa is a long-term absentee because of an ACL injury he sustained last season. Vlahovic is expected to lead the line with Kostic and Cuadrado occupying the flanks. As for Spezia, Ekdal won’t be available for the match against Juve because of a red card suspension. Daniele Verde and Nzola are likely to partner up front with Sala, Bourbia and Bastoni forming the three-man midfield.Â
Juventus probable starting lineup: Szczesny, Danilo, Rugani, Bremer, Sandro, Miretti, Locatelli, McKennie, Cuadrado, Vlahovic, Kostic
Spezia probable starting lineup: Dragowski, Hristov, Kiwior, Nikolaou, Gyasi, Sala, Bourabia, Bastoni, Reca, Verde, Nzola
The Serie A match between Juventus and Spezia will take place at Allianz stadium on Thursday at 12:15 am IST.
