Ipswich Town will be desperate to return to winning ways and stay in the race for a top-two spot in the division when they travel to the Den to take on Millwall in an EFL Championship fixture on Wednesday night. The visitors are heading into the match on the back of a 2-2 draw versus West Bromwich Albion at the weekend, while the Lions suffered a 2-1 defeat away to Coventry City last time out. The Tractor Boys are currently occupying fourth spot in the English second tier standings, having collected 60 points from 30 games, four adrift of the automatic qualification spot, while the hosts, who have played a game more and are sitting at the 18th position, with 33 points to their name, four away from the relegation zone.

Millwall has recorded eight wins, nine draws and 14 defeats from 31 Championship games so far, and their last success came away to Bristol City on New Year’s Day. Since then, the Lions have suffered five defeats and one draw from their last six outings in all competitions. Millwall lost out to Coventry on Sunday despite taking the lead through Romain Esse’s 12th-minute opener. The Sky Blues came out all guns blazing in the second-half and netted twice through Haji wright’s brace. Meanwhile, the Lions haven’t been great at the Den, having already lost seven games in front of their own supporters, while winning only four out of 15 in the Championship.
Ipswich, on the other hand, have won only one of their last nine Championship fixtures, recording two defeats in the process. The Tractor Boys started the month of February with a 3-2 defeat away to Preston North End on February 3, before sharing the spoils with West Brom on Saturday. Paul Cook’s men twice came-from-behind to earn a point versus the Baggies thanks to Nathan Broad Head’s 46th-minute effort and Omari Hutchinson’s volley three minutes into the injury time. The late strike from the 20-year-old prevented a third straight defeat across all competitions for the first time since August 2021.
Millwall probable starting lineup: Sarkic, Tanganga, Harding, Cooper, McNamara, Honeyman, De Norre, Bryan, Esse, Flemming, Obafemi
Ipswich Town probable starting lineup: Hladky, Clarke, Woolfenden, Edmundson, Davis, Morsy, Luongo, Burns, Chaplin, Broadhead, Moore
