Malmo will host FK Zalgiris in the second leg of their Champions League qualifier at Eleda Stadion on Wednesday. The opening leg of the tie at LFF stadium had ended 1-0 in favour of Zalgiris courtesy of Fabean Ourega’s 49th-minute goal. Malmo had reached this far in the competition by getting the better of 6-5 aggregate win over Vikingur in the previous round , while the Lithuanian outfit secured a 2-1 aggregate win over Ballkani in their two-legged first qualifying round tie. The hosts are heading into the match on the back of a 3-1 win over Sirius in an Allsvensken fixture last Saturday.

Moustafa Zeida’s brace and Patriot Sejdiu’s goal helped Malmo get the better of Sirius and take all three points. The victory helped the Blue Ones move to 30 points from 16 games and sit at the 5th spot in the Allsvenskan points table. Milos Milojevic’s side are just three points adrift of the league leaders Djurgarden at the halfway stage. Zalgiris, on the other hand, are aiming to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in their history. The 2021-22 Lithuanian champions have enjoyed an impressive run of form since the start of the year, losing only two of their 25 matches across all competitions, winning 16 and drawing the remaining seven.
