Moustafa Zeida’s brace and Patriot Sejdiu’s goal helped Malmo get the better of Sirius and take all three points. The victory helped the Blue Ones move to 30 points from 16 games and sit at the 5th spot in the Allsvenskan points table. Milos Milojevic’s side are just three points adrift of the league leaders Djurgarden at the halfway stage. Zalgiris, on the other hand, are aiming to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in their history. The 2021-22 Lithuanian champions have enjoyed an impressive run of form since the start of the year, losing only two of their 25 matches across all competitions, winning 16 and drawing the remaining seven.

Malmo midfielder Soren Rieks is doubtful because of a knock he picked up in the first leg. Rest of the squad are fit and available for selection. New signings Zeida and Mahame are likely to pull the strings in the midfield alongside Anders Christiansen. Veljko Birmancevic, who was the Swedish club’s top scorer last season with 12 strikes to his name, is expected to lead the attack with Kiese Thelin and Jo Inge Berget in support. As for Zalgiris, head coach Vladimir Cheburin is unlikely to make too many changes to the side that got the job done in the opening leg last week. Renan Oliveira is expected to lead the attack alongside Oyewusi. Milickovic and Gorobsov could pull the strings in the midfield with Ourega and Buff occupying the flanks.
Malmo probable starting lineup: Dahlin; Bejimo, Hadzikadunic, Moisander, Olsson; Christiansen, Siby, Pena; Berget Thelin, Birmancevic.
FK Zalgiris probable starting lineup: Gertmonas; Bopesu, Pavelic, Ljubisavljevic, Mamic; Buff, Milickovic, Gorobsov, Ourega; Oyewusi, Oliveira.
The Champions League qualifier between Malmo and Zalgiris will take place at Eleda Stadion on Wednesday at 10:30 pm IST.
