Southampton will be looking to register their first victory of the pre-season when they face AS Monaco at the St Mary’s Stadium on Sunday. The English side have had less than convincing pre-season results, as they are winless in the three games they played this month. Meanwhile, the French side have neither been impressive with the team registering a mixed set of results. Hence, both sides will be hoping to get their act together with the new season fast approaching in their respective countries.

The French side lost their last friendly to Porto 2-1, hence they will be eager for a quick response against Southampton.

The Saints have been relatively busy in the transfer window, with the club bringing in a few players. However, their best piece of business was to keep hold of their star midfielder James Ward-Prowse. Besides, they have brought in Joe Aribo, Romeo Lavia, Gavin Bazunu and Sékou Mara this summer. It will be interesting to see how many of those will play on Wednesday.
