Luton Town will host West Ham United in a pre-season friendly at Kenilworth Road on Saturday. The hosts are heading into the match on the back of a 2-0 win at Peterborough last Thursday, while West Ham suffered a 3-1 defeat at Rangers in their previous outing a day earlier. Luton Town finished at the sixth spot in the last edition of the Championship and lost the semi-final playoff to Huddersfield. The Hammers, meanwhile, had an impressive Premier League campaign last term, securing a Europa Conference League qualification by finishing seventh in the standings.

Luton have recorded five successive wins in the summer so far. After the game against the Hammers, the Hatters will begin their new Championship season against Birmingham on July 30. Nathan Jones’ side started their preparations for the new season with a week long training camp in Slovenia, followed by behind closed doors win over Gillingham. The Hatters have made a couple of new signings, bringing in Barnsley duo Carlton Morris and Cauley Woodrow.
West Ham, on the other hand, will take on Lens next Saturday before facing Manchester City in their 2022-23 Premier League opener at the London stadium on August 7. David Moyes’ side has registered two wins, two draws and one defeat in their pre-season so far. The Hammers have managed to score seven goals in five outings this summer while conceding six times, not the best of stats in Moyes’ point of view.
With this being Luton’s final friendly before getting their Championship opener, head coach Nathan Jones is likely to name a strong starting lineup without too many experimentations. Jerome and Morris could lead the attack with Cornick providing the creative spark. Lockyer, Oysho and Burke could form the three-man defence with Bell and Jones operating on the wings. As for West Ham, new signing Nayef Aguerd is nursing an ankle injury while Issa Diop is expected to feature on saturday. Tomas Soucek and Downes could sit in front of the back-four with Benrahma deployed as an attacking midfielder.
Luton Town probable starting lineup: Horvath; Jones, Lockyer, Burke, Oysho, Bell; Lansbury, Mendes, Gomes; Cornick; Jerome, Morris
West Ham United probable starting lineup: Areola; Coufal, Diop, Zouma, Cresswell; Soucek, Downes; Bowen, Benrahma, Masuaku; Vlasic
The pre-season friendly match between Rangers and Tottenham Hotspur will take place at Kenilworth Road on Saturday 7:30 pm IST.
