Luton began their new league season with a goalless draw against Birmingham before playing out a 1-1 draw at Burnley after Dan Pott’s opener was canceled out by Josh Brownhill. And then, in the mid-week EFL Cup fixture, Carlos Gomes and Tom Lockyer scored for Luton, but goals from Lewis Collins, Chanka Zimba and James Waite helped Newport County secure the win. Meanwhile Nathan Jones’ side are undefeated in their last seven home games and would be desperate to register their first win of the new season in front of their own fans.

Preston North End probable starting lineup: Woodman; Cunningham, Storey, Bauer, Fernandez; McCann, Whiteman; Potts, Johnson, Ledson; Parrott.
