Western Conference outfits Los Angeles FC and FC Dallas will square off in a Major League Soccer (MLS) fixture at the Banc of California stadium on Wednesday. The hosts LAFC are heading into the tie on the back of a convincing 2-0 win over NY Red Bulls on Sunday, while a day earlier, the visitors played out a 2-2 draw at Austin. LAFC are currently on top of the Western Conference with 38 points from 16 games, while the visitors are 12 points behind them in fourth spot.
“So far, the trade has worked out perfectly for both sides as Farfan has been one of FCD’s most consistent performers while starting all 16 games. Hollingshead, too, has enjoyed his first few months in Los Angeles, scoring four goals in nine starts.”@WinStarWorld | #DTID

On Sunday, LAFC got the better of NY Red Bulls courtesy of goals from Cristian Arango and Diego Palacios. It was LAFC’s 10th victory of their campaign and they have now extended their unbeaten run to four league games. Prior to the NYRB win, Steve Cherundolo’s side were held to a 1-1 draw at Seattle Sounders. The Black and Gold have a four point lead over second placed Real Salt Lake, who have played a game more, in the Western Conference table.
Dallas, on the other hand, shared the spoils against Austin at Q2 Stadium on Saturday. All four goals were scored in the second half of the match. Dallas netted twice through Paul Arriola and Brandon Servania before the hosts Leveled the score courtesy of strikes from Sebastian Driussi and Danny Hoesen. Off late, Dallas’ form hasn’t been very great, winning just one of their last six games and that victory came up against LAFC on May 15.
LAFC players Julian Gaines and Erik Duenas are out with injuries, while Tomas Romero is unavailable due to health and safety protocols. Arango, who has netted in the last three games for the Black and Gold, is set to lead the attack once again alongside Carlos Vela and Rodriguez. As for Dallas, Joshua Quinonez is doubtful because of an ankle problem. Full-back Ema Twumasi is pushing for a place in the starting eleven.
Los Angeles FC probable starting lineup: Crepeau; Escobar, Murillo, Ibeagha, Palacios; Cifuentes, Sanchez, Blessing; Vela, Rodriguez, Arango
FC Dallas probable starting lineup: Paes; Twumasi, Martinez, Hedges, Farfan; Servania, Quignon, Pomykal; Arriola, Velasco, Ferreira
