Western Conference side Seattle Sounders will host Eastern Conference outfit CF Montreal in a Major League Soccer (MLS) fixture at Lumen Field on Thursday. Both sides are heading into the tie on the back of convincing victories in their respective league games. The hosts thrashed Sporting KC 3-0 in their previous match last Sunday, while, on the same day, Montreal got the better of Charlotte 2-1. Seattle have managed to accumulate 23 points from 15 games to sit at the seventh spot in the 14-team table, while the visitors have picked up three more points, although they have played a game more to occupy third spot.

Last Sunday, Seattle took the lead inside the opening 8 minutes through Will Bruin before Jordan Morris doubled the lead in the 71st minute. And then, four minutes later, Cristian Roldan sealed the victory with the home side’s third of the night. The Sounders have been in very good form having won five of their last seven games, while losing only once in that time period. Meanwhile four of those wins came at home turf, scoring 13 goals in the process. Brian Schmetzer’s side would be aiming to continue the juggernaut on Thursday.

Montreal, on the other hand, got the better of Charlotte courtesy of goals from Romel Quioto and Mathieu Choiniere on either side of Guzman Corojo’s strike. Off late, Montreal haven’t been in great form, having lost four of their last six games across all competitions. Despite a slump in form, Wilfried Nancy’s side have managed to occupy the third spot in the Eastern Conference points table, just three points behind league leaders Philadelphia Union. Central defender Kamal Miller is doubtful because of a knock he picked up in the last outing.
