Liverpool welcome Everton to Anfield for another edition of the Merseyside derby in the Premier League. The Reds will undoubtedly be the clear favourites in this clash on Monday night despite their poor run of form in recent weeks. In fact, both teams are not where they would like to be in the league table this campaign. They are going through poor spells which has made it nothing but a frustrating campaigns for both sets of supporters. Hence, they would hope that this derby could bring back the spark to their league season.

At the start of the campaign, Liverpool were expected to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League crown. However, things have not gone according to plan for Jurgen Klopp’s side. From fighting for an unprecedented quadruple last season, the Reds are now languishing in mid-table position this time around. Klopp’s side are already out of the two domestic cups and have a difficult round of 16 challenge against Real Madrid in the Champions League.

On the other hand, Everton have also underperformed massively in the Premier League this season. Placed inside the relegation zone, the Merseyside Blues have a difficult task of climbing out of the bottom three places. Having said that Sean Dyche, who replaced Frank Lampard for the managerial job, started life at Everton in an impressive manner. They defeated Arsenal 1-0 last weekend. In the league table, Everton are currently placed 18th in the table with 18 points from 21 matches. Meanwhile, Liverpool are sitting 10th with 29 points from 20 games.
