Latvia will be hoping to continue their good run of form at the UEFA Nations League when they travel to Liechtenstein. The visitors have already won three matches in the ongoing competition and are on an overall four-game winning run. On the other hand, Tuesday’s hosts are rooted to the bottom after losing all three games. Latvia, who sit top of Group 1 in League D, will be hoping to make it five wins in a row across all competitions when they visit Rheinpark Stadion. The visitors are the heavy favourites for the Tuesday night clash and the current rankings also indicate why.

Latvia are placed at 135th spot in the FIFA rankings, while Liechtenstein are way behind at 192nd place. The visitors are themselves not in the top 100, still, their ranking is far superior to Tuesday’s hosts. Latvia started with a 3-0 win over Andorra, then defeated Liechtenstein 1-0 before getting past Moldova 4-2. Prior to that, they beat Azerbaijan 1-0 in a friendly. They would be keen to maintain this momentum and complete a double over Liechtenstein in the competition on Tuesday.

On the other hand, the hosts are in the middle of an extremely poor run. Liechtenstein started the Nations League with a 2-0 loss to Moldova, a 1-0 defeat to Latvia and a 2-1 loss to Andorra. Not only that but their form over the last couple of years has been extremely poor. The last time, they won a match was in October 2020 when they beat Luxembourg. They will be keen to correct this alarming situation when they host Latvia. However, Liechtenstein will be well aware of the difficult task at hand.
Liechtenstein will have to make a couple of changes to the Starting XI following their 2-1 defeat to Andorra. Sandro Wolfinger, who was taken off before halftime in the last match, might not return to the playing squad on Tuesday. Livio Meier, who replaced him in the last match, scored a goal in injury time. That strike might allow him to start the upcoming game. On the other hand, the visiting team might not make many changes and could most likely continue with the same side that beat Moldova 4-2. Vladislavs Gutkovskis could very well lead the line once again and would be keen to maintain his recent good run of form.
Liechtenstein possible line-up: Buchel, Malin, Beck, Grunenfelder, Meier, Graber, Luchinger, Netzer, Sele, Frick, Hasler
Latvia possible line-up: Steinbors, Savalnieks, Cernomordijs, Dubra, Jurkovskis, Jaunzems, Tobers, Zjuzins, Ikaunieks, Uldrikis, Gutkovskis
