Armenia will be up against Scotland on Tuesday in the UEFA Nations League. Both the teams sit at the bottom of group B1 with three points each however situation is not as disappointing as it looks like with both are just three points below the leaders, Ukraine. Scotland who have been through an encouraging spell in the recent times won the reverse fixture against Armenia 2-0 and will undoubtedly enter into this game as the favourites to grab all the three points. This match could have a strong implication on the relegation scenario to tier three.

Armenia, on the other hand, started their Nations League run with a shock 1-0 win over the Republic of Ireland. However, they haven’t been able to continue that form with a 2-0 defeat to Scotland and 3-0 loss to table toppers, Ukraine following since. Joaquin Caparros’ side have developed a bad habit of letting in far too many goals and they will surely have to address that issue if they are to take anything away from the game against Scotland. A loss will make the possibility of them staying up in tier two ever more difficult.
Following the disappointment of failing to qualify for the World Cup after suffering a defeat against Ukraine earlier this month, Scotland looked to be back on track after kicking off their Nations League campaign with a 2-0 win against Armenia. But, a comprehensive 3-0 defeat against the Republic of Ireland in Dublin has halted their progress. Alongside the result, the manner of defeat was a major concern for Steve Clarke and his side as they were thoroughly outclassed. Scotland will aim to obtain maximum points against Armenia, knowing that two difficult games against Ukraine are yet to follow in their Nations League group.
Armenia will be undoubtedly looking to make some changes for the game following heavy defeats to Scotland in the reverse fixture and consequent loss to Ukraine. Fitness wise, attacker Lucas Zelarayan and defender Hayk Ishkhanyan remain doubtful to feature. As for Scotland, Robby McCrorie was announced to have been drafted into the squad prior to match against Ireland while Zander Clark and Liam Cooper both withdrew. Andrew Robertson might well be handed a rest following a long season with Liverpool. Kieran Tierney and Ryan Jack are both out injured.
