Leicester City would be bidding to return to winning ways in the EFL Championship when they play host to Swansea City at King Power Stadium on Tuesday night. Leicester suffered only their fourth league defeat of the season away to Coventry City on January 13, and then almost ten days later, dropped points against nearest challengers IpswichTown following a 1-1 draw. It was only the second time this season that Enzo Maresca’s side endured a two-game winless run in the Championship. The Foxes got back to winning ways on Saturday, putting three goals past Birmingham without reply in the FA Cup fourth round tie, thanks to one effort each from Jamie Vardy, Yunus Akgun and Denis Praet in the second-half. Meanwhile, the Foxes have won 21 of their 28 league games this term and their last second tier success came against Huddersfield Town on New Year’s Day.
Swansea, on the other hand, have recorded eight league-wins this season and their last success came against West Bromwich Albion on New Year’s Day thanks to Liam Cullen’s lone goal in the second half. But after that, the Swans managed to take just a solitary point from their next two second tier outings. Last time out Luke Williams’ men conceded five goals against Bournemouth in the FA Cup fixture, courtesy of efforts from Lloyd Kelly, Alex Scott, Luis Sinisterra, David Brooks and Dominic Solanke. The result extended Swansea’s winless run on the road to five games in all competitions.
