Liverpool will be looking to extend their winning run to seven Premier League-games when they travel to the King Power Stadium to take on Leicester City. The Reds secured a narrow 1-0 win over Brentford last weekend, while the hosts are heading into the match on the back of a 5-3 defeat away to Fulham. The impressive run of form has helped Jurgen Klopp’s side to climb to fifth spot in the English top flight standings, having collected 62 points from 35 games, four adrift of the top four. The visitors, meanwhile, are languishing at the 19th position, with 30 points to their name, just two away from safety.

Leicester suffered their 21st league-defeat of the season against Fulham last Monday despite the fact that Harvey Barnes scored a second-half brace and James Maddidson netted once from the penalty spot. The result extended their winless run to three games, losing two matches in the period, while conceding eight goals. The Foxes have won eight Premier League games this term and their last success came against Wolves (2-1) last month thanks to goals from Kelechi Iheanacho and Timothy Castagne. The result ended their ten game losing streak in all competitions. After the game against the Reds, Leicester travel to third-placed Newcastle United before ending their season at home to West Ham United. Meanwhile, on a positive note, the Foxes have got the better of Liverpool in their last two encounters at the King Power Stadium.
Liverpool, on the other hand, secured their 18th top flight victory of the season against Brentford last Saturday thanks to Mohamed Salah’s lone goal inside the opening 13 minutes. The result extended their unbeaten run to eight games, scoring 19 goals and conceding just nine in the process. Klopp’s men are currently sitting four points adrift of fourth-placed Manchester United and will be aiming to take maximum points from their remaining three fixtures, while hoping for United to drop points in order to secure a Champions League qualification. The Reds have won just five away-games in the league this term. Meanwhile, Klopp’s men got the better of Leicester 2-1 in the reverse fixture at Anfield in December last year.
