Real Madrid take on Villareal in their final La Liga encounter of the ongoing edition. The Los Blancos are in contention for a league triumph, but by a slim margin. They need to record a win in their last match of the season, with arch-rivals Atletico Madrid failing to pull off a win. However, popular football commentator and critic Suman Chakraborty believes that it will not be so easy for Real Madrid, considering the excellent season that Villareal attacker Gerard Moreno has enjoyed.

“Moreno has scored 23 league goals in this edition. He is the second-highest goal-scorer after Lionel Messi (30), which is an indication of his capabilities. A good performance on the night for Moreno could very well result in an upset win for Villareal, who have scored eight goals in their last three matches. The Spaniard is a terrific attacker and extremely versatile, with an ability to emerge as a game-changer on both the wings, as a No.9 as well as in the role of a striker,” says Chakraborty in an exclusive interaction with Sportslumo.

He further highlighted Carlos Bacca as another player who could emerge as a match-winner. At the same time, Chakraborty backed Real Madrid to record a decisive win considering the presence of the likes of Karim Benzema, Vinicius Junior and Toni Kroos.

Luis Suarez is one of the best

The football commentator also had words of praise for Atletico Madrid striker Luis Suarez, who is expected to feature in the Madrid-based side’s encounter against Real Valladolid CF.

“Suarez is one of the best players in the No.9 position at the moment. He has an impressive goal per minute ratio, having recorded a goal every 121 minutes. He has been named as the Player of the Match on six occasions this season, with 20 league goals in 31 matches an indication of his impact on the game. It is very difficult to stop Suarez. I would back the Uruguay attacker to flourish in the 3-5-2 formation expected today, with the likes of Angel Correa, Marcos Llorente, Saul Niguez, Kieran Trippier, Thomas Lemar capable of providing some quality support when it matters the most,” concluded Chakraborty.
