From Telstar to Teamgeist, these are the three most famous World Cup balls:

Telstar – 1970 ( Champions – Brazil )

Telstar is the one ball that changed the FIFA World Cup, varied history and who got everything going. Breaking with usual rituals of utilizing balls made in the host footballing nation, the Telstar was the first genuinely official ball of the World Cup. The pattern was employed on black-and-white displays to make the ball clearer and better to see. Although it has a stunning appearance, not every game at the quadrennial event utilized it. Surprisingly, the german manufacturer Adidas provided just 20 for the tournament. But the 1970 World Cup beast remains as the OG.’

Fevernova – 2002 ( Champions – Brazil )

Talking about breaking the stereotypes, The Fevernova was a concept that was genuinely avant-garde and broke every rule that had been followed up to that point. In contrast to the 1978 Tango’s three-pointed shapes linking each hexagon, Fevernova’s coloring substituted a new, triangle-like form on four of the hexagons. Asian culture was the sole inspiration for this vibrant and innovative appearance and use of colour. Despite widespread criticism that Fevernova was excessively light and moved a lot quicker, the World Cup saw some delightful and magical goals.

Teamgeist – 2006 ( Champions – Italy )

Teamgeist was arguably the perfect round football-shaped ball to ever be created. The Teamgeist ball is different from other World Cup balls as it only has 14 curved panels, as opposed to the 32 that have been the usual since 1970, making the ball topologically comparable to a shortened octahedron. Forty match balls were given to each of the 32 eligible national teams to be used in training. Under a protective layer of coating, match balls for the 2006 FIFA World Cup were personalized with the stadium’s name, the teams, the match date, and the kickoff time of each contest. A unique match ball known as the Teamgeist Berlin was used for the World Cup final, which was then termed better with aspects of the game.
