FC Dallas will be hosting the Vancouver Whitecaps in all important fixture in Major League Soccer 2022. Both sides competing in the Western Conference have enjoyed and endured highly contrasting fortunes so far in their respective campaigns. Dallas have enjoyed a brilliant run so far as they find themselves at the second spot in the Western Conference table with 25 points so far just four behind the leaders, Los Angeles FC. Vancouver Whitecaps, on the other hand have suffered drastically poor results as they sit uncomfortably in the bottom half of the table at 11th with just 17 points and look set to miss out on the Championship playoffs once again.

The confidence definitely must be high in the FC Dallas dressing room given the encouraging results they have achieved so far. They have suffered only three defeats so far in the season, although two of them happened in their last three fixtures at the end of May. However, they responded well to these consecutive defeats with an essential 3-1 win over Orlando City in their last fixture before the break. Dallas, who have struggled to make serious strides towards playoffs qualification in the recent years, have shown all signs that they are a force to reckon with this time around. Their coach, Nico Estevez will be looking for another motivating result against Vancouver Whitecaps as they look to cut the four point lead at the top between them and Los Angeles FC.
As for, Vancouver Whitecaps, situation isn’t as promising as their hosts’. Although, they managed to secure consecutive wins against Sporting Kansas City and Real Salt Lake by the margins of 1-0 and 2-1 respectively at the end of May, a 4-0 thrashing by Seattle Sounders has completely disrupted their unbeaten run and confidence. The Canadian side’s troubles have been well highlighted by the fact that they hold the record for being the second worst team in the Western Conference when it comes to the number of goals conceded. Vancouver’s attack also is suffering issues as have scored only 16 goals so far in their 15 games.
FC Dallas will be without any fitness related issues for the match against Vancouver, which has been the case for them throughout much of the season so far. Nico Estevez also won’t have to worry about any suspensions. This will give Dallas an extra advantage in their quest for glory. Russell Teibert and Thomas Hasal will be out for Vancouver Whitecaps. The former being out due to due an eye issue while Hasal being sidelined due to a hand injury.
