Columbus Crew would consider themselves unlucky to share the spoils against New York City last Saturday, after Christian Ramirez’s 48th-minute opener was canceled out by Gabriel Segal four minutes into the injury time. Prior to that, the Crew earned a thrilling 2-1 win away to Chicago thanks to Cucho Hernandez’s 59th-minute opener and Lucas Zelarayan’s 93rd-minute winner. It was their eighth league-win of the season and the result extended Wilfried Nancy’s side’s winning run to three games. Meanwhile, Columbus Crew have been the most prolific team in the MLS this season, scoring a total of 36 goals, only Atlanta United (37) have scored more goals across either Conference division.
Nashville, on the other hand, suffered their fourth league-defeat of the campaign against CF Montreal on Wednesday night courtesy of Bryce Duke’s lone goal in the first half. The result ended their four-game unbeaten run that included three wins against St Louis City, FC Dallas and Columbus Crew. NSC have won 10 MLS games this term and their latest success came against St Louis (3-1) last Saturday thanks to Hany Mukhtar’s hat-trick. Meanwhile, the Tennessee-based outfit boast best defensive record in the MLS having conceded only 14 goals all season.
