Los Angeles FC will be looking to make it three consecutive wins in the Major League Soccer and extend their lead at the top of the Western Conference standings to six points when they host Vancouver Whitecaps at BMO Stadium on Saturday. LAFC secured a narrow 1-0 win over Seattle Sounders in the mid-week, while the visitors are heading into the match on the back of a 1-1 draw against Eastern Conference leaders FC Cincinnati. The hosts have collected 32 points from 17 games, three more than second placed St Louis, while the Blue and White are sitting at the ninth spot in the standings, with 22 points to their name, four adrift of the top seven.

LAFC moved back into the top of the standings, courtesy of securing all three points against Seattle Sounders last time out. Mateusz Bogusz’s lone goal inside the opening minute helped the Falcons register their ninth league-win of the season and leapfrog St Louis City into the summit of the Western Conference points table. Meanwhile, the Black and Gold have lost only one of their nine MLS fixtures at BMO stadium this season and they are currently tied with FC Cincinnati for the second-fewest goals conceded in MLS this year (16).
Vancouver Whitecaps, on the other hand, earned a point against FC Cincinnati last Saturday thanks to Ryan Gauld’s 89th-minute equaliser from the penalty spot. The result extended their unbeaten run to four games across all competitions, recording two wins in the period. Meanwhile, Blue and White will enter the game without an away-win in 15 successive regular season matches, a streak that goes back to July 2022. Whitecaps have won five league-fixtures this year and their last top flight success came against Houston Dynamo (6-2) towards the end of last month.
Los Angeles FC probable starting lineup: McCarthy, Hollingshead, Duenas, Chiellini, Palacios, Bogusz, Sanchez, Cifuentes, Biuk, Vela, Bouanga
Vancouver Whitecaps probable starting lineup: Takaoka, Blackmon, Veselinovic, Laborda, Raposo, Cubas, Schopf, Martins, Gauld, White, Vite
